Rowan Pierce is a Performance Designer that produces and exhibits work, collaboratively and individually, across a range of mediums including live performance, film and installation. Often with an emphasis on the live orchestration of sound and the projected video image, Rowan is interested in provoking a sense of the unknown and the un-seen in his work, dissolving real people, places and objects with the super real. His recent projects include the short film Bethankit, directed and designed as part of the collective film-suite titled Quarters. He worked as part ofThe Playground NZ Ltd on the AV Design for the production of Sleep/Wake, performed at the Auckland International Festival of the Arts 09 and continues to be involved in their upcoming projects. Other projects include work exhibited at the Adam Art Gallery, the New Zealand School of Dance, Toi Whakaari and Massey University. Rowan recently graduated from the Bachelor of Performance Design Degree in 2009.
